The Melee V2 aero story
ENVE developed the Melee V2 with aerodynamicist Simon Smart at the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS wind tunnel in Silverstone. The rider was part of the development process: the frame, moving legs, wheels, cockpit and bottles all affect how air flows around a bicycle.
ENVE reports a 17-watt improvement over the original Melee for the complete aero system. Its published breakdown attributes 11.4 watts to the frame, fork and seatpost, 2.6 watts to the aero bottle cages, and 3 watts to the handlebar and tape. These are manufacturer test results, not a guaranteed saving for every rider or speed.
The practical lesson is to consider the whole build. A comfortable position you can maintain, compatible components and thoughtful setup belong in the same conversation as frame aerodynamics.

A lighter foundation for your next road bike
The V2 uses a BSA threaded bottom bracket and a Universal Derailleur Hanger. ENVE lists a frame weight of 750–850 grams depending on size and finish, with clearance for tires up to 33 mm and a recommended optimal tire size of 31 mm. UL Black and White Lightning finishes offer two distinct looks.
