UNA STORIA DI FAMIGLIA

A family story that began in a home workshop.

In the 1970s, Alcide Basso began brazing, disassembling and rebuilding bicycles at home. He was fascinated by materials, geometry and the human body.

In 1977, a rider more than two meters tall asked Alcide to create a frame specifically for him. Alcide drew it by hand and built it around a lasting principle: the bicycle should feel like an extension of the rider.

That commission became Basso Bikes. Today, the next generation carries the family’s cycling culture forward. Basso is not simply a name on the downtube. It is the family name behind the bicycle.

ITALIAN DESIGN

Functionally beautiful. Beautifully functional.

Italian design makes useful objects emotionally compelling. Basso brings that instinct to the performance bicycle, balancing aerodynamics, stiffness, handling and comfort with proportion, color and visual simplicity. The goal is a complete riding experience—advanced without losing personality.

Materials and technology have changed enormously since Alcide built his first steel frame. The human element behind Basso has not. Build, ride, study, refine: innovation matters when it creates a better bicycle.
