Yeti SB120

Trail. Checkmate.

The Yeti SB120 proves that suspension travel is only part of the story. With 120mm of Switch Infinity rear suspension paired with a 140mm fork, it combines the speed and efficiency of a short-travel bike with the confidence, traction and control of a much bigger trail machine.

It climbs quickly, changes direction instantly and carries surprising speed through technical terrain. For riders who want one lively, capable mountain bike for everyday trails, long backcountry rides and fast descents, the SB120 finds the sweet spot.

Switch Infinity Suspension

At the heart of the SB120 is Yeti’s refined Switch Infinity suspension system. Its translating pivot changes direction as the bike moves through its travel, creating efficient pedaling support early in the stroke and smooth, controlled suspension performance deeper into the travel.

The result is excellent climbing efficiency without sacrificing traction. When the trail turns downward, the suspension remains active under braking and allows the rear wheel to follow the terrain instead of skipping across it.

120mm of Highly Usable Rear Travel

The SB120’s relatively linear leverage curve makes all 120mm of rear travel available to the rider. Sensitive early travel absorbs small bumps and generates traction, while a supportive mid-stroke helps the bike hold its line through corners, compressions and jumps.

Increased bottom-out control provides added confidence when a landing is harder—or a line is rougher—than expected. It is short-travel efficiency with a much larger margin for adventure.

140mm FOX Suspension Fork

A 140mm FOX 36 SL fork balances the SB120’s rear travel with additional stiffness, control and impact absorption at the front of the bike.

The lightweight 36mm chassis provides precise steering without the weight of a traditional enduro fork. It improves confidence on steep descents and rough terrain while preserving the lively, responsive character that makes the SB120 so much fun to ride.

Balanced Trail Geometry

The SB120 uses a modern reach, slack head angle and steep seat-tube angle to create a riding position that works equally well uphill and down.

The centered position keeps both wheels properly weighted, helping the front tire maintain traction through corners while giving the rear wheel grip on technical climbs. Size-specific chainstays and seat-tube angles ensure riders across the full size range experience the same balanced handling and efficient pedaling position.

TURQ and C/Series Carbon Frames

TURQ Series models use Yeti’s premium carbon construction to achieve an ideal balance of low weight, stiffness and controlled compliance. C/Series builds deliver the same geometry and Switch Infinity performance in a slightly heavier, more accessible package.

Size-specific carbon layups tune stiffness and flex for each frame size, creating a ride that feels precise without transferring unnecessary trail vibration to the rider.

29-Inch Wheels and Trail-Ready Tires

Fast-rolling 29-inch wheels help the SB120 maintain momentum and move smoothly across rocks, roots and trail obstacles.

Current builds pair a high-grip Maxxis Minion DHF front tire with a faster-rolling Maxxis Aggressor rear. This combination provides confident front-wheel traction for braking and cornering while maintaining speed and efficiency at the rear.

Long-Travel Dropper Compatibility

Short seat tubes allow riders to use longer-travel dropper posts across the size range. With the saddle fully lowered, riders have greater freedom to move over the bike on steep descents, technical features and jumps.

This gives the SB120 a more capable feel than its travel numbers might suggest and allows riders to confidently attack demanding terrain.

Quiet and Easy to Maintain

Internally guided cable tubes and secure entry points eliminate unwanted rattles and cable rub. A threaded aluminum bottom-bracket shell improves durability and makes routine service straightforward.

Standard cartridge bearings are installed in the linkage rather than directly into the carbon frame. Precision-machined floating collet axles improve frame stiffness, maintain proper alignment and help extend bearing life.

UDH and Modern Drivetrain Compatibility

The Universal Derailleur Hanger makes replacement hangers easy to find while providing compatibility with modern direct-mount drivetrain systems.

Whether equipped with SRAM Transmission, Shimano Di2 or a mechanical drivetrain, the SB120 provides a clean, adaptable platform that is ready for future upgrades.

Who Is It For?

The Yeti SB120 is for riders who value speed and efficiency but want more trail capability than a traditional cross-country bike can provide.

It is quick enough for long-distance rides, agile enough for tight singletrack and composed enough to make technical descents genuinely fun. If your ideal ride includes earning every climb and attacking every descent, the SB120 may be the most versatile Yeti in the lineup.

Wickedly efficient. Surprisingly fast. Ready for considerably more than 120mm should be.
