Orbea Ordu Mini-Review

This is the same rocket ship that Craig Alexander piloted to a World Championship in Kona.  First off, Lance says “it’s not about the bike” but with my power, it’s all about the bike!  This bike looks and rides incredible!

The Bike:  Orbea Ordu, Size 51cm, Dura Ace all the way, Zip Vuka Aerobars (the best bar out there, by far!!) & Zipp 404 Clinchers.  I didn’t take the time to fit the bike, just set the saddle height, threw on some pedals, and away I went.

The Ride: I took it out for a 2 1/5 hours cruise and loved every second of it.  The bike is light, responsive and extremely stable at speed.  The faster you push it, the better it gets!  I’m not a time trial or tri guy, but I could be on this bike.  It takes a lot to get me to climb on a Shimano bike, but I forgot all about once I rolled out. 

The acceleration was incredible.  It was quite windy, but this thing cut through the wind like a hot knife through butter.   The faster you take the bike, the more stable it gets.  It also climbed well for a tri bike and its cornering was shockingly good.

Lightweight, stable, fast, great looking and comfortable, this is a must ride/must own bike…..It has inspired to do a tri his year (now all I need to do is learn to swim and run!)
